Things and Nonthings, series of drawings, graphite and charcoal on paper, 15 parts, each 21 x 30 cm, 2017 – 2019
-
The series of black and white drawings is focusing
on the interior of my parents’ house. On these drawings, we see
chairs, sofas, tables, stairs, houseplants, and home accessories.
The permanence of the material environment determines our rhythm in life.
Investing physical, mental, emotional or other kinds of energy in substantial
things would give them value, a high inner complexity, which is connected
to something non-material.
The series documents the changes in a certain period of time and creates
an insight into the living space of these people, while the absence of humans
makes these objects become the major characters.
